In 2015 one of De Wet’s paintings from the body of work Running Towards Yourself was acquired for the permanent collection of the city of Seinäjoki, in Finland.

Postponement of the Self Exploration Painting Workshop in September /
Dear Galleries, Artists and Art Enthusiasts
Due to the fact that I was expecting the renovation of my studio etc completed by now, I have to postpone the Self Exploration Painting Workshop on the 12th of September 2015. I do I apologize for the inconvenience.
Any of the artists who wanted to join me are welcome to contact, inbox or follow my blog so that I can ad you to the waiting list. I’ll keep you posted when the next workshop is due.

So I forgot to enter a painting for the Sanlam Portrait Awards in South Africa . . . but then again I have been told by a curator 10 years ago that I live in the wrong country, my work is too out of the box . . . the paintings I created/produced 15 years ago (the portraits) are in vogue at the moment in my country. I see similar work all over the show. .
I push boundaries, what can I say . . . story of my life.
Oil on acrylic - more or less 15 years ago. Not a good quality photograph but the brushstroke and mark-making says it all.

I am planning to host a Self Exploration Painting Workshop in September and a Mixed Media Workshop in October!
I guide participants through a series of self-portrait exercises, by exploring the external presentation of the internal exploration of the Self in the Self Exploration Workshops.
Date: The date for Self Exploration Painting Workshop is Saturday 12 September 2015.
Time: 10:00 - 13.00
Duration of Workshop: 3 hours.
Fee: R650 excluding materials
Refreshments: Tea and tart
